When your unable to adapt your given the big green boot..
This means you cant adjust or your just a freak who lives in his/her own world and refuses to follow orders.
I saw grown men twice my size cry like babies because of the crap they do to us when I was at the depot. Its a mental thing, if you cant hack it you are gone.
It means they weren’t Corps materail and were sent home to their mommies
It means they were not ready and were too tired or did not like it.
Many recruits are sent home for faiure to adapt. Simply stated, not every one is cut out for this life, and the more pampered they are in civilian life before entering the Corps, the more likely they will be sent home for the reason stated.
The Marine Corps is a rugged and humbling experience for most recruits. If you are unable to adapt to it’s wishes, there’s no argument, it’s simply an abrupt good bye !
You are issued a general discharge which shouldn’t hurt your ability to move on with your life. This is not a bad conduct or dishonorable discharge, that restricts you later on, this one with explanation is more accepted.
Usually it means that they couldn’t cut the training. It is the toughest basic training of all the services and by a long shot. Just remember that the ex-heavyweight champion of the world, Riddick Bowe, quit after just 11 days. A few years later he said he would "give a million dollars to be a Marine" but he couldn’t hack it. The toughness of basic training and the type of person it build is one reason people never stop being a Marine. If you can make it through Marine basic you can do anything.
Great !
