What would get a person sent home from Marine Corps boot camp without graduating?

My step daughters boyfriend is coming home from boot camp the same week he was supposed to graduate, but he is not graduating and said something about having to return to boot camp at a later time. He told her that he saw some body huff something and didn’t report it, so he is being sent home? I am a former Marine and am having a hard time swallowing this excuse! I was wondering if things have changed this much or if this is even possible?

    its possible….

they do jam people for failing to observe rules involving safety of colleagues. If you arent a good battle buddy in recruit training, imagine what a shitbag you will be in iraq or afghanistan? its serious.

however, they typically dont boot you for just failing to report something, you can get rolled back typically.

there are many reasons people dont make it. he isnt marine material, it happens. move on.

    its suspicious, but possible.

Not sure but that could be a possibility. Marine bootcamp has changed in the past 15 years. No cussing anymore or hitting. It’s become too soft for these youngsters now-a-days. More rules and regulations.

no idea….i recall that only about half graduated from our platoon that we started with… we picked up others along the way after completing each phase.

i just knew that you never ask to go see the docs.

My Guess is he pansies out and found an excuse that he isn’t telling anyone about. Like Maybe he said he has a mental problem or used heroine, maybe said he is gay. The Military will only put what their rule book says on the discharge papers like Untrainable or Lack of potential.

Sorry to hear sir that he is making up excuses. I dont think he is Marine material. Not everyone is cut to becoming a Marine. "The few, The proud, The Marines"

Dont send he back to Basic training if he couldnt make it the 1st time he cant make it the 2nd time sir.

Tell him to join something easier like Army or Navy or even a Mall cop might be his line of duty.

Have a nice day sir and sorry to hear

    First of all…
There is no such thing as a "Former Marine"…
    The change is Forever…

    Nothing has really changed…just perceptions…
As a Marine you know that if he didn’t make
    it through "Boot Camp"…
There is something seriously wrong with him…
    "Non Hacker/Bed Wetter/Peter Puffer/
Found something he didn’t disclose when enlisting…

He will not be returning to "Boot Camp" ever.
