What is Marine Corps boot camp really like?
I’ve heard all the stories, watched all the videos, and read all the articles, but I want an honest answer from a marine, what is boot camp really like? What was going through your head?

Boot camp is a joke after the fact.
think of it this way your are going to be there for what maybe 3 months and yet you sign a 4 year contract. if you are scared of 3 months of boot camp what about combat?
boot camp sucks at first then you get used to it and it becomes strangely fun. even the bad things that happened will become funny stories after you get done. it is not hard, look how many marines we have serving now. just do what your told and dont give up or quit and you will do fine.
Trust me boot camp is a controlled environment designed to teach you to push yourself. you will find out just how good you really are. compared to anything you will do with the Marines boot camp is a joke.
as stupid as i thought Navy boot camp was i still remember funny things happening. The training i went to, Field Medical Service School (FMSS) in order to serve with the marines was nothing more than training. i had been in the fleet for 2.5 years before this and had already deployed on a ship, i worked in an I.C.U for two years. so much of what i was taught at FMSS was basic and i already knew more. the trick is to just go with the flow and do as your told. showing off or even under performing brings attention to yourself and that isnt always good. well not in these training environments.
No-one is going to care that you got dropped for pushups or whatever wile at boot camp, or that you just did what you were told etc….
Just get the schooling over and done with and again you will be fine.
Everyone re-acts differently….you’ll be way out of your element when you get there but you’ll get used to it quick if you try hard……its tough one of the toughest things you’ll do…..but like the Doc said its only 3 months of a 4 year contract.
So easy a caveman can do it
