"tolerates" it to abuse its recruits in boot camp. not only the govt but the USA as a whole, il prove it again. this is for all police officers, case scenario, you are a police officer in san diego, you parked your unit along the fence at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot so u can do paper work. u glanced across the fence, u see a drill instructor choking a recruit. i know u dont have jurisdiction on a military base but would u report this to the military police on base or would you simply smile and turn away? please no long drawn out answers just give me either one of the answers please

It is a safe bet that any post that starts off with "well known fact" is based on hot air.

    I would report it.

Abuse in Marine Boot is no where near what it used to be when I was there in 67, things have changed dramatically and they are pampered more now than ever before. I would smile and look the other way!!!!! Discipline is a key in the Corp, certain "abuse" as you call it, we call it "training aides" is necessary! Hooorah!

way do you what to start trouble I went to boot camp and it was just fine it made a man out of me you should go my friend .

Sure I’d report it, and that would end my participation. If they decide that the DI was acting appropriately, that’s up to them. I understand that civilian and military rights and sensibilities aren’t always the same.

  • Destiny:

    report it

As you are not now, nor ever have been a Marine, I’m thinkin you need to stop watchin old movies and not believe everything you read on the web. Those day are long gone in the military………..

In light of the fact I had a drill instructor take my M-14, hold it up butt first to my face to show me that there was dirt on the butt plate and ramming it into my face to allow me a closer look…I’d say let it go. Some will say otherwise but unless you were in the Marines you’d never understand.
