BEFORE, and make sure you get an EGA below it. TRUST ME this is the best way to go. also if you have time get semper fi on one of your fore arms

Wait until after…..you will get your tattoo with more knowledge behind you.

After! that way you won’t look like an idiot if you don’t make it thru and you’ll also have more money to pay for a much nicer/elaborate tattoo. They do have a policy, just ask your recruiter what the rules are and then make your decision.

The marines have a formal code about tattoos now. If you have a tattoo they can see, you could possibly be rejected from service.

Better to wait till you are in, then the worst you could get would be a minor discipline action. Plus, you’ll be able to get one along with your buds.

do not get one before boot camp, unless you want a drill instructor to be in your face the entire time, i have a friend in bootcamp right now and a recruit in his plk
atoon had usmc on his arm aand he said they will wake the kid um at 2 just to scream in his ear and tell him to ear his ink, making him do extra pt, and other duties, so if you truly want to get one before be prepared for the truly wost 3 months of your life cause they will make you earn that ink
