We have one hour free time per day, sometime is less!
Boot camp is 3 months not the whole 4 years
it would be pretty stupid not to enlist just because you can’t go 3 months without playing your guitar.
you will not be allowed to keep or play your guitar in the boot camp, they will not allow you to have any personal belongings that cannot fit inside a tubberware container. Don’t even bring your guitar, wait till after boot camp and have it shipped, avoid the ridicule…
About an hour or two
Nope.. Won’t happen. You won’t even be able to take your guitar with you. sorry :/
but good choice, Marines are the bestt (: good luck with everything.
Hell no!! lol it’s funny trying to picture you bringing something like that to boot camp. Man they would probably break that shit in front of your face man. Marines is no walk in the park nor is it time for practicing 4 guitar concerts. You’ll be trained to be a killer and nothing else. You do get 1hr(may not be promised) after your whole training day is over to read letters sent to you and to write letters but that will be it!! Very funny question though…
I remember the Sunday before graduation our DI’s let us buy a Sunday paper and gave us 20 minutes with it. That’s about all the free time I remember unless you did rack ops after lights out.
Boot camp, absolutely NOT. Your only authorized extracurricular activity is reading Scripture, and you won’t have a ton of time for that, even.
But don’t worry. Once you’ve completed your initial training, you can practice all you want after your duty day is over. I know a couple of guys who shipped their guitars to Iraq. We used to sit outside late at night and burn sensitive materials (and anything wood lying around) while they played guitar. That was actually pretty nice. Deployments aren’t all bad…
LOL. My buddy used to tell me about having to take 30 second showers. So no, I doubt there is much personal time.
