if a person doesn’t pass marine recruit training can they still try and enlist in the army and try to pass it or will they be banned from all the military recruit training facilities?

Audie Murphy was turned down by the Marines and Navy, but became a hero fighting in Europe in the Army during WW2.

If you drop out of Marine basic training, you will definitely have no problem enlisting in other Military Branches. Dropping out or failure to get through training will not affect you in the outside world at all. And Marines or Marine is always spelled with a capital M.

Thats a real open question, and the answer is, it depends. Depends on why you didn’t make marine trainning. Medical resons, no. Weight, conditioning issues, yes, but you’ll still need to pass Army weight and physical conditioning to pass army trainning. A dishonoral discharge, that kinda depends as well, what got you discharged? I had a friend get dishonorably discharged, six months later (after the iraq invasion started) he got offered a reinstatment of rank and postition, or a transfer with rank to the Marines.

Best bet, ask your local recuiter, he’ll be up to date with current regulations on all of this.

Depends on why you failed out. If you just couldn’t hack it and failed then you could probably go Army but you may need a waiver. If you didn’t pass because you was injured or for a discipline problem that will make it hard as well. There’s no blanket answer for every single person who fails out. We had one person who didn’t pass Marine Boot Camp because he got injured and it took months before we got an answer on whether or not he can get in with us.

It depends. If a person can’t make it through marine basic because it was too demanding, then yes you can try another branch. But if there was some physical reason and you were discharged during basic training, then that will fellow you everywhere. I know of people who joined the army, then transferred to the marines after their 2 year enlistment was up. But you still have to go through basic training from the start.
