I can run a 4:30 mile/ 16:00 5k[3.1 miles]
I can do 30-40 push ups at once without dying
I can do 60 situps in two minutes
and i can only do 3 pullups
i am 5 foot 10 and 134 pounds and i tend to think of myself as mentally tough
I am Tiny but can hold my own, will boot camp own my ass?
Everything was looking good to me until I got to the part where you said I can only do 3 pull ups. 3 pull ups is the minimum to pass the PFT. I spent 2+ years at MCRD as permanent personnel and I can’t count the number of guys that had a hard time doing 3 pull ups from a dead hang. My advice to you would be work on upper body strength and try to get the pull up count much higher.
It used to be tough when we were a tough country, but now its like going to summer camp. They even have stress cards in case you really get upset.
If EVERYONE could join the U.S. Marine Corps, it wouldn’t be the Marines.
they bust your a s s
Not that hard, girls get through it.
Push yourself to do 100 crunches in two minutes.
Strive to get 20 pull ups.
Running seems good.
Do push ups until you cant do anymore.
Boot camp is hard but not impossible.
Just dont quit on yourself.
Dont be the one to say "i quit"
this question has been asked millions of times so just type it in and see what you get, everytime i answer it truthfully i get thumbs down from wannabes, but i will tell you anyway
anyone can do it, you just have to want it bad enough
I am Tiny but can hold my own, will boot camp own my ***?
A. Without a DOUBT, YES!
how hard is Marine Corps boot camp?
A. The hardest thing you’ll ever do.
If everyone could survive MCRD, there would be no other services (LOL)!

Stress card?? Not happening in the Corps. I heard about them when I was at my first Air Force assignment after moving from USMC to USAF… I thought they were a joke then; today the use of ‘Stress cards’ would be a travesty.
5’10 @ 135? That ain’t Tiny.. Try 5’4" and 98 # soaking wet. I gained 10 lbs in boot
(I found out that people actually can SLEEP and EAT regularly. That was SO COOL!)
blase031… / o3NJP: Tool? Thanks, your mom LOVED it!
i don’t know where everyone is getting this new idea of ‘stress cards’ being used in marine basic training, but its a bunch of BS i can assure you. Army might have crap like that, but marine corps boot camp is the hardest thing you will ever do in your life. people like to say that its not nearly as hard as it used to be, and all that crap, but have you done it? the only people i hear sayin that its easy is the lazy a**es who are sitttin at home doing nothing with their life. unless you have been through the 13 weeks at paris island or san diego, shut up!!
It doesn’t matter how good you are in boot camp.
To get through boot camp without major pain is to
know about radar and how to stay below the one
of your drill Sgt. Thinking you are mentally strong
is one of the best ways to get on his wanted list.
you will make it. they don’t let you quit. it really isn’t that hard. oh, chest lives is a tool, and i would guess a POG. good luck man.
Don’t tell anyone about all of the above.
Make ‘em feel good about how they have "improved" you.
You’ll do fine buddy. Work on the pull-ups – everybody gets smoked there.
Try to work up to 50 push ups with your feet elevated.
Can you do the spidercrawal? (Sitting on the ground – raise your butt and "walk" like a spider about 50 feet.)
(Never volunteer. No good deed goes unpunished).
But can you check your brain at the door?
If so, then you can join.
And btw, you will need to gain at least 30 Lbs of muscle before you are done with boot camp. But don’t worry, they’ll be more than happy to help.
