We received this text as an email and do not know the author. It is a great composition and I hope all enjoy it as much as we have. If anyone knows the author, please let us know.

Semper Fi!

I like the fact that if you are a self-declared enemy of America , Running into a Marine outfit in combat is your worst nightmare… And that your health record is either about to get a lot thicker, or be closed out entirely.

I like the fact that Marines are steadfast and consistent in everything they Do… Regardless of whether you agree with them or not.

I like the fact that Marines view the term ‘politically correct’ with Nothing but pure disdain.

I like the fact that Marines stand tall and rigid in their actions, thoughts, And deeds when others bend with the direction of the wind and are as confused as A dog looking at a ceiling fan.

Click here to see if you could make it through boot camp

I like the fact that each and every Marine considers the honor and legacy of The Corps as his personal and sacred trust to protect and defend.

I like the fact that most civilians don’t have a clue what makes us tick. And that’s not a bad thing. Because if they did, it would probably scare the Hell out of them.

I like the fact that others say they want to be like us, but don’t have What it takes in the Pain-Gain-Pride department to make it happen.

I like the fact that the Marines came into being in a bar, named Tun Tavern. And That Marines still gather in pubs, bars and slop chutes to share sea stories and Hot scoop.

I like the fact that Marines do not consider it a coincidence that there are 24 hours in a day and 24 beers in a case.. Because Marines know there is a reason For everything that happens.

I like our motto… SEMPER FIDELIS, And the fact that we don’t shed it When the going gets tough, the battlefield gets deadly or when we hang up our Uniform for the last time.

I like the fact that Marines take care of each other… In combat and time of Peace.

I like the fact that Marines know the difference between ‘Chicken Salad’ and ‘Chicken Shit’ and aren’t afraid to call either for What it is.

I like the fact that Ronald Reagan said… ‘Some people spend an entire Lifetime wondering if they made a difference… Marines don’t have that Problem!’

I like the fact that we are brothers to the end…. And that no matter what Happens in life, we know that we have one another’s ‘six’.

I like the fact that an elected member of congress felt compelled to Publicly accuse the Marine Corps of being ‘radical and extreme’. And I Also like the fact that our Commandant informed that member of congress that she Was absolutely correct and that he passed on his thanks for the Compliment.

Click here to see if you have what it takes to be a Marine

I like the fact that Marine leaders – of every rank – know that issuing every Man and woman a black beret – or polka-dotted boxer shorts for that matter – Does absolutely nothing to promote morale, fighting spirit or combat Effectiveness.

I like the fact that Marines are Marines first… Regardless of age, race, Creed, color, sex, and national origin, or how long they served, their former Rank, or what goals they achieve in life. I like Marines…and I love the fact that I am humbled to walk among the ranks Of other Marines.

I like the fact that you always know where you stand with a Marine. With Marines, there is no middle ground or gray area. There are only Missions, Objectives and Facts. In closing…if you aren’t a Marine, the next best thing is to have a Marine for a husband, wife, and father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, best friend, or friend. SAEPE EXPERTUS, SEMPER FIDELIS, FRATRES AETERNI (Often Tested, Always Faithful, Brothers Forever) Once a Marine, Always a Marine.

This website is all about getting ready for United States Marine Corps Boot Camp, but what I want to get you ready for is life in The United States Marine Corps. You may have landed on this page because you were looking to learn how much you will get paid while in The Corps, and that is fine. You may have landed on this site because you wanted to know about becoming a Marine Officier. What ever your reason for being on this page I want you to stop and think for a moment. I want you to understand what you are really trying to accomplish.

I served in The Corps, and it was the greatest time of my life thus far. I was later called a Maverick because I enlisted while I was 17 and completed Parris Island and later went on to earn my commission after OCS (Officer Candidate School). I further went on to complete TBS (The Basic School) and thereafter served proudly in the FMF (Fleet Marine Force). Over the years, and definitely during the six months I spent (combined officer and enlisted) in boot camp, I saw many, many individuals fall by the side and fail to become Marines. Enough about me, now let’s talk about you.

Serving in The United States Marine Corps is not a game. It is not something to do to “be cool.” You should not be thinking about The Corps because you want to better the democracy of our republic or any nonsense like that. If you are thinking of getting into the Corps because you are looking for a way to pay the rent, then join the Air Force. If you are looking for a way to support your now pregnant girl friend, then go on welfare. The cold and the harsh reality for becoming a United States Marine is that it is a life that is not meant for everyone. Whether or not the reality of The Corps is for you, is what only you can answer now, and what The Corps will answer later on, while you are in training.

I have now been out of The Corps for years and yet I still speak with those that I served. They are still serving and yet the bond of friendship has transformed itself from casual acquaintance to… I will do anything for these guys, if asked. When I say ANYTHING, I mean ANYTHING. Having served with these brothers I know that they will only ask of me what I can deliver and they would only call upon me if the need was real and present. My wife knows and understands this relationship and she quietly acknowledges that despite my love for her, the love of my fellow Marines is one that is greater and will never waiver.

If you are thinking of joining The Corps you can expect your life to change in ways you never would have believed possible. Jogging. They say that running is almost all in the mind and I say that is true. BECAUSE of my time in The Corps I can still push my mind to force my body to do things my civilian friends cannot. Because of the mental roughness I know that my body will do what the brain orders it to do. Most people do not realize that they do not LIVE in their body, because they really just LIVE in the brain. While my fellow civilian friends grow weary and complain about not getting a break at work, I say to myself…”what a pussy!” While my friends continue to eat shit food (carbs and empty calories) and laugh about the size of their belly, I stay lean and ready to answer the call of whatever life throws in my path. Because of my time in The Corps I have become ready for life.

As you sit there thinking of joining The Corps you need to get your head screwed on straight and get it screwed on tight. Although you get really nice uniforms, cool stuff and a paycheck… you need to understand that the glory of The United States Marine Corps is all due to the combat operations they have fought over the centuries. When you are doing Marine Corps business in combat… you will be dirty, hot or cold, thirsty, shot at, crapping in a hole, eating food you would avoid all the while your friends are diing in horrible conditions, and yet….there you will (hopefully) be. The time spent in combat is NOT cool. It is not John Wayne stuff…it is bone shaking, scared for your life shit! As you sit in the dirt shaking from fear you will know and understand that the others out there with you are fellow Marines and that bond is what makes The Marine Corps the finest fighting organization in the world today. When you become a Marine, and after all of the basic training, there is a good chance you will find yourself in a location of the world filled with life and death situations. If you are not prepared to do what it takes in Marine Boot Camp, because of the low pay or the yelling Drill Instructors…..what the hell you thinking of becoming a Marine for?

If you want to become a Marine then you better get your head out of your ass and be ready to run and carry your body weight anywhere, at any time, to do anything called upon to survive. If you are thinking of attending the training program at Parris Island or San Diego, you better get into the shape that you never thought possible. You better run and run some more. Pull ups? Crunches? Why can’t you get a 100% on the PFT? (Physical Fitness Test). If you can’t, then you should be out there everyday getting better. Too cold to run? Get over it. Too hot to run? Then carry more water! The point is that unless you are dead you have no excuse to not just get it done.

Nobody ever said being a Marine was easy and if you are a wimp, they don’t want you….unless you want to be in the band for Obama! Then you can skip boot camp altogether, but then playing in the band for HIM is one thing I would never understand why ANYONE in The Corps would want to do? Maybe a different Commander in Chief, but not for Obama. As far as I am concerned he does not deserve the honor, but that is a different article.

If you are getting ready to join Marine Corps Boot Camp you better prepare yourself because you will be starting the ride of your life. Do not be like so many of the failures I have seen over the years.

So maybe you have smoked marijuana in your life and now you want to join the United States Marine Corps. Maybe you are a heavy pot smoker and now you really want to clean up your act. Now you are thinking of whether or not you can even become a Marine. Well, we have the answer for you, so read on and you will know whether or not you can join the United States Marine Corps if you have ever smoked pot.

Click here for help in getting ready to go to boot camp

The first thing that you need to realize is that if a person shows up for ANY portion of the testing process and has marijuana in their system, they will be sent home and they will not be permitted to move any further in the training cycle, whether you are not at Marine boot camp, or whether you just stepped off the bus at basic training. If you take a test and marijuana is in your body, you will not be allowed to continue on any further with recruit training, or in-processing.

If you are talking to a recruiter and they ask you if you smoked pot and you say “yes”, you will then have to fill out all the waiver forms and promise to not do it again. If you get the waiver status, you will then be allowed to gain entry into the boot camp process. If you do not tell your recruiter that you smoked pot, you will then move onto the next question and everything will be fine, until the time comes that you have to take a drug test, which usually means a urine, or a piss test. This test is pretty basic in the fact of the threshold of drugs that it looks for and this is where you, as a Marine applicant need to make the smart choice about joining the Corps.

Sure it is possible to get over on the recruiter and tell them you never smoked pot. Sure you could lie that you were the straight “A” kid that never did any drugs at all, but this is what separates the Marines and those that get sent home in disgrace from Marine Corps boot camp. If you are, or were a pot smoker, this is the moment of decision.

THERE IS NO PLACE IN THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS TODAY FOR A POTHEAD. The culture of the Marines does not allow it, your peers will not allow it and your officers will not allow it. If you lie and gain access to the Marine Corps and do not stop smoking pot for the ENTIRE time you are in The Corps, you will eventually get busted and your chances of staying a Marine will decrease the higher you are in rank.

If you think you can join the Corps and keep smoking pot, you are very wrong. If you think that it is tolerated, you are mistaken. If you think you can get over on the fact that you keep smoking pot, you will fail as a United States Marine. The key to joining The United States Marine Corps is that if you are smoking pot, then stop.

Click here for help on learning how to stop smoking pot, while getting ready for boot camp.

Once you stop you will need to get the THC residue out from your fat cells. How long that takes will depend on how much body fat you have and how much you have smoked. The fatter you are, the longer it will take. The more you have smoked, the longer it will take to clear your body of the tell-tale THC.

A good rule of thumb is to allow yourself at least 30 days for the THC to clear out, and exercise (sweat) everyday. Never provide your first (most toxic) urine of the day for the test. Drink lots and lots of water each and every day until your body has passed the test. Fatter people may need longer, skinnier people may need less time. A person needs to drink at least 128 ounces of water daily. Do not drink it all at once, as it is most effective when consumed slowly all day long.

What you need to take away from here is that the United States Marine Corps is a new start for anyone, from any walk of life. When you put on the uniform for the first time it will be about a personal era of new beginnings, and smoking pot is no exception. If you have smoked pot and want to join the Corps, THEN STOP AND STAY STOPPED!

If you still think that you will be able to join the Corps and get away with it, guess again. Follow this link to show how comprehensive the testing really will be. Notice at the bottom of the page (in the hyper link) how the products to clean out your system really only make it worse.

If you are a Marine that is on active duty and smoked pot and are now scared of all the world of hurt than can come your way, you should be scared. The only thing that will save your ass at this point if you smoked pot and are now afraid, is time and sweat and water. If you have to report back in then you better hope you do not get tested. You need to sweat, drink water and then do it again for 30 days. Time and water are the only things that will help you. What were you thinking Marine?

If you are thinking of joining the Corps and can clean up your act and if you can stay marijuana free, and pass the entry test, you will be home free. Well, almost….you will still have to pass Marine Corps boot Camp.
