If you are wondering whether or not you can graduate from Marine Corps Boot Camp, you are not alone. You already know that Marine Basic training is the most difficult recruit training in America, but did you know that making it to graduation is not all about being physically fit? Sure being in shape is a benefit, but it really is not the be all and it sure is not the end all. If you are in high school and thinking of becoming a Marine we have a few simple tips for you to consider, and to understand.

- The Marine Corps is not for everyone. The everyone club hold the title of U.S. Army.

- You do get paid while you are in boot camp.
- You will shoot a rifle in boot camp.
- Marine Corps Boot Camp will be the toughest thing you may ever do in your life.
- You may FAIL boot camp.
What you must understand about the Corps is that they have the ability to take any size person and train them into shape. If all weak recruits did not graduate, there would be no Marine Corps. The intention of boot camp is to provide the training needed to become fit and be able to carry your own body weight in extreme conditions. The entire program is not designed to tear you down, it is designed to build you up.
What most young men and woman do not understand is that the boot camp process is more about mental stamina and mental discipline than it is about physical stamina. The 12 to 13 week course is designed to get in your head and play games with your head. They want to be sure that you will have the ability to do what you need to do when it needs to be done. Whether the order is to clean the decks or to kill another human being on command, you will learn to obey orders instantly. The entire process of boot camp is to prove that you have the MENTAL ability to do what it takes. The process of boot camp is to see who will crack and who will carry on. My Drill Instructor always said that the intent was to have a recruit flip out in boot camp, so they are not around to flip out in a fighting hole. (Fox hole to you Army types)
The job of the Drill Instructor is to help you become a Marine while eliminating the dead weight of those that should not be a Marine. The title of United States Marine is one that truly needs to be earned. The title will be one that you wear with pride for as long as you live. The title of United States Marine is quite possibly the coolest title a person could have in the entire world. If you think you could be a Marine you should really consider what boot camp is all about.
When you graduate from Marine Corps Boot Camp you will be in the best shape of your life. If you graduate from boot camp you will be alert and proud and a warrior. If you graduate from Marine Corps Boot Camp you will have instant respect when you walk into a room. You will be a modern day warrior. If you fail Marine Corps Boot Camp you will just be a statistic that tells a lie as to why it happened. That lie will be told a thousand times, until you believe it to be the truth.
If you want to make it in boot camp you need to study the pages of this site and others. You need to prepare and exercise and study as much as possible, because it is not going to be easy. A great way to prepare is to visit Prepare for Marine Corps Boot Camp.com. They have a vast collection of inside information that has come directly from Marine Drill Instructors. By understanding what you have in store, your chances of success will increase exponentially. The preparation process for boot camp should not be put off and it should take every minute of your immediate future to prepare. If you prepare early, you may just take platoon honors and graduate wearing the Blues!
So maybe you have smoked marijuana in your life and now you want to join the United States Marine Corps. Maybe you are a heavy pot smoker and now you really want to clean up your act. Now you are thinking of whether or not you can even become a Marine. Well, we have the answer for you, so read on and you will know whether or not you can join the United States Marine Corps if you have ever smoked pot.

The first thing that you need to realize is that if a person shows up for ANY portion of the testing process and has marijuana in their system, they will be sent home and they will not be permitted to move any further in the training cycle, whether you are not at Marine boot camp, or whether you just stepped off the bus at basic training. If you take a test and marijuana is in your body, you will not be allowed to continue on any further with recruit training, or in-processing.
If you are talking to a recruiter and they ask you if you smoked pot and you say “yes”, you will then have to fill out all the waiver forms and promise to not do it again. If you get the waiver status, you will then be allowed to gain entry into the boot camp process. If you do not tell your recruiter that you smoked pot, you will then move onto the next question and everything will be fine, until the time comes that you have to take a drug test, which usually means a urine, or a piss test. This test is pretty basic in the fact of the threshold of drugs that it looks for and this is where you, as a Marine applicant need to make the smart choice about joining the Corps.
Sure it is possible to get over on the recruiter and tell them you never smoked pot. Sure you could lie that you were the straight “A” kid that never did any drugs at all, but this is what separates the Marines and those that get sent home in disgrace from Marine Corps boot camp. If you are, or were a pot smoker, this is the moment of decision.
THERE IS NO PLACE IN THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS TODAY FOR A POTHEAD. The culture of the Marines does not allow it, your peers will not allow it and your officers will not allow it. If you lie and gain access to the Marine Corps and do not stop smoking pot for the ENTIRE time you are in The Corps, you will eventually get busted and your chances of staying a Marine will decrease the higher you are in rank.
If you think you can join the Corps and keep smoking pot, you are very wrong. If you think that it is tolerated, you are mistaken. If you think you can get over on the fact that you keep smoking pot, you will fail as a United States Marine. The key to joining The United States Marine Corps is that if you are smoking pot, then stop.

Once you stop you will need to get the THC residue out from your fat cells. How long that takes will depend on how much body fat you have and how much you have smoked. The fatter you are, the longer it will take. The more you have smoked, the longer it will take to clear your body of the tell-tale THC.
A good rule of thumb is to allow yourself at least 30 days for the THC to clear out, and exercise (sweat) everyday. Never provide your first (most toxic) urine of the day for the test. Drink lots and lots of water each and every day until your body has passed the test. Fatter people may need longer, skinnier people may need less time. A person needs to drink at least 128 ounces of water daily. Do not drink it all at once, as it is most effective when consumed slowly all day long.
What you need to take away from here is that the United States Marine Corps is a new start for anyone, from any walk of life. When you put on the uniform for the first time it will be about a personal era of new beginnings, and smoking pot is no exception. If you have smoked pot and want to join the Corps, THEN STOP AND STAY STOPPED!
If you still think that you will be able to join the Corps and get away with it, guess again. Follow this link to show how comprehensive the testing really will be. Notice at the bottom of the page (in the hyper link) how the products to clean out your system really only make it worse.
If you are a Marine that is on active duty and smoked pot and are now scared of all the world of hurt than can come your way, you should be scared. The only thing that will save your ass at this point if you smoked pot and are now afraid, is time and sweat and water. If you have to report back in then you better hope you do not get tested. You need to sweat, drink water and then do it again for 30 days. Time and water are the only things that will help you. What were you thinking Marine?
If you are thinking of joining the Corps and can clean up your act and if you can stay marijuana free, and pass the entry test, you will be home free. Well, almost….you will still have to pass Marine Corps boot Camp.

I like the fact that if you are a self-declared enemy of America , Running into a Marine outfit in combat is your worst nightmare… And that your health record is either about to get a lot thicker, or be closed out entirely.
I like the fact that Marines are steadfast and consistent in everything they Do… Regardless of whether you agree with them or not.
I like the fact that Marines view the term ‘politically correct’ with Nothing but pure disdain.
I like the fact that Marines stand tall and rigid in their actions, thoughts, And deeds when others bend with the direction of the wind and are as confused as A dog looking at a ceiling fan.

I like the fact that each and every Marine considers the honor and legacy of The Corps as his personal and sacred trust to protect and defend.
I like the fact that most civilians don’t have a clue what makes us tick. And that’s not a bad thing. Because if they did, it would probably scare the Hell out of them.
I like the fact that others say they want to be like us, but don’t have What it takes in the Pain-Gain-Pride department to make it happen.
I like the fact that the Marines came into being in a bar, named Tun Tavern. And That Marines still gather in pubs, bars and slop chutes to share sea stories and Hot scoop.
I like the fact that Marines do not consider it a coincidence that there are 24 hours in a day and 24 beers in a case.. Because Marines know there is a reason For everything that happens.
I like our motto… SEMPER FIDELIS, And the fact that we don’t shed it When the going gets tough, the battlefield gets deadly or when we hang up our Uniform for the last time.
I like the fact that Marines take care of each other… In combat and time of Peace.
I like the fact that Marines know the difference between ‘Chicken Salad’ and ‘Chicken Shit’ and aren’t afraid to call either for What it is.
I like the fact that Ronald Reagan said… ‘Some people spend an entire Lifetime wondering if they made a difference… Marines don’t have that Problem!’
I like the fact that we are brothers to the end…. And that no matter what Happens in life, we know that we have one another’s ‘six’.
I like the fact that an elected member of congress felt compelled to Publicly accuse the Marine Corps of being ‘radical and extreme’. And I Also like the fact that our Commandant informed that member of congress that she Was absolutely correct and that he passed on his thanks for the Compliment.

I like the fact that Marine leaders – of every rank – know that issuing every Man and woman a black beret – or polka-dotted boxer shorts for that matter – Does absolutely nothing to promote morale, fighting spirit or combat Effectiveness.
I like the fact that Marines are Marines first… Regardless of age, race, Creed, color, sex, and national origin, or how long they served, their former Rank, or what goals they achieve in life. I like Marines…and I love the fact that I am humbled to walk among the ranks Of other Marines.
I like the fact that you always know where you stand with a Marine. With Marines, there is no middle ground or gray area. There are only Missions, Objectives and Facts. In closing…if you aren’t a Marine, the next best thing is to have a Marine for a husband, wife, and father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, best friend, or friend. SAEPE EXPERTUS, SEMPER FIDELIS, FRATRES AETERNI (Often Tested, Always Faithful, Brothers Forever) Once a Marine, Always a Marine.
