This page has been placed here to help those that are looking for some new cadence or some old and forgotten cadence. The chanting, the yelling and the words spoken often over-shadow the reason for cadence while out running as a Marine unit in training.
Some say that cadence builds team work and bonds the souls of those being trained, which is true to some degree. The true value of cadence is much simpler and easier to understand when observed from a fitness standpoint. The true value of cadence is nothing more than helping the Marine be able to expand lung capacity while under stress.
The simple basic truth of cadence in The United States Marine Corps is that it helps make a body stronger. If you doubt that then go run a mile and stay quiet. Then go run another mile and shout for the entire time you are running. It will not take much time or distance to realize that running and shouting is not that easy to accomplish.
Either way….cadence is pretty cool and if you are a Marine then you too may be here looking for where Jody went also?
If you have any suggestions for this page lets us know and we will post it. Keep it clean though as Mama may come for a visit…
Enjoy….and Semper Fi!

I am 14 years old, and have always wanted to go to the Marines. I want to join after I finish college so I will have something to fall back on if I can not join, like my father. My father wanted to go to the Marines to be a helicopter pilot, but got in an accient and the recuiter ripped up his papers. I don’t want that to happen to me too, so what can I do to stay fit and be ready for bootcamp when I join.
I was in Marine Corps JROTC my freshman year, but I had to move and was switched to Army. I’m joining the Marines as soon as I graduate, but, we did almost every single one of these cadences when we did PT. I loved every single of it.
