Are prescription medicines allowed at Marine Corps Boot Camp?
I did not know if I should post this in health or military, but I figured you guys would know better than the general public so thanks :]
If I do not take my psoriasis medication it gets pretty bad, noticeable within 2 days. With the medicine it’s not even noticeable. I don’t want to get sent home from boot because my psoriasis flairs up, that would break my heart.
Also if I can’t get into the Marine Corps does anyone know if it would be possible to become a police officer?

Over-the-counter medication is not allowed in basic training. If you bring any with you, it will be taken away. All prescription medication will be re-evaluated by a military doctor upon arrival. If the doctor determines that the prescription is necessary, the civilian medication will be taken away, and the recruit will be re-issued the medication by the military pharmacy.
Please talk with a Marine recruiter about your situation.
Good luck.
I have OCD, when I do not take my medication, my brain causes my body to feel shocking pains when I am in the heat. I simply take a small pill once a day, I would be in extreme pain if in some reason I do not take the pills, but no actual damage will be done to my body. Is prescription medicine allowed in the marine grunts/officers and would it be able to be shipped to the battlefield? Also, would I be turned down for this problem?
Editor’s Opinion: We doubt you will gain access to active duty, you will need to get past MEPS.
